Amp closes financing for 61-MW community solar portfolio in US

August 25, 2022 by l

“Toronto-based renewables developer and operator Amp Energy said today it has closed financing on a 61-MW community solar portfolio that also includes 6.5 MWh of storage in Massachusetts and New York.

The company has completed a repeat deal with KeyBank, which led the construction and term debt, and US Bank, which invested in the tax equity for the portfolio. This is Amp’s fourth deal with these lenders since 2017.

The portfolio is valued at USD 155 million (EUR 156m) and consists of 13 projects, most of which will come onstream in 2022 and the remaining in the second quarter of 2023. Three will feature energy storage systems.

Amp said it has now raised more than USD 500 million of total tax equity and debt in the US community solar market over the last few years.

Separately, Amp on Wednesday said it held an opening ceremony with EDF Renewables North America for two new community solar farms in Verona and Vernon, New York — the 5.8-MW DC Quiet Meadows solar farm 1 and 7.5-MW DC Quiet Meadows solar farm 2. The two projects were developed by EDF Renewables and sold to Amp in late 2021.”
