“The Christman Sanctuary reopened Thursday, after it had been closed a week for repairs due to vandalism.
“We appreciate the rapid response of local law enforcement as well as the outpouring of support from the community as to why it was necessary to temporarily close the preserve,” said Gabe Chapin, the forest conservation and stewardship manager for the Nature Conservancy, the nonprofit that owns the 120-acre preserve. “We are pleased that the repairs are now complete so that community members can return to Christman’s trails and enjoy time in nature.”
The sanctuary, located off of Schoharie Turnpike in Duanesburg, was closed to the public last week due to damage from vandalism.”
