“India’s renewable energy company Amp Energy India has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd (RUMSL), a floating solar park developer, for 100MW/140 MWp capacity.
RUMSL, a joint venture of Solar Energy Corporation of India and Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd., has been designated as a solar power park developer by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy for the state of Madhya Pradesh.
The developer is planning a 600MW floating solar park at the Omkareshwar Reservoir, which is said to be India’s largest floating solar project.
The project will be developed in two phases, with 300MW in each phase at pre-identified locations at the Omkareshwar Reservoir.
As explained, the project is under the build, own, operate, transfer (BOOT) model for a fixed tariff of 25 years.”
