“The Gloversville Common Council has voted to hire attorney Andrew Leja, of Albany-based law firm Barclay Damon, to help defend the city against an Article 78 lawsuit filed by the Free Methodist Church of Gloversville in March.
According to the resolution approved by the council, Leja, who already represents the city Zoning Board of Appeals as special counsel to an ongoing “Public Utility Variance” application process by solar developers Eden Renewables, will continue to charge the city the same hourly rate of $365 for the remainder of December before the rate rises to $385 in 2022.
The agreement with Barclay Damon spells out how other attorneys or staff from the law firm will be paid in the event they are deployed to help the city.”
