“A lending agency operated by the state Energy Research and Development Authority has received its first infusion of private, non-government funding for green energy projects.
NY Green Bank, which is a division of NYSERDA this week said it has closed on its first private capital fundraising round, with $314 million from Bank of America. The money will be lent at market rates to developers of green energy projects.
“This is a natural step in NY Green Bank’s continued evolution and will allow us to advance our goal to put as much capital as possible to work in disadvantaged communities and other priority areas in the coming years,” said the bank’s Acting President Andrew Kessler.”
