“After three public hearings on the subject, the Common Council voted unanimously to send an application to rezone the former Pine Brook Golf Course to the city and county planning boards for their recommendation.
The solar farm project needs the parcel of land to be rezoned from residential to commercial in order to proceed.
The application to change the zoning for the recently subdivided parcels of the former golf course came from 280 Main St. Ventures, a corporation partly owned by neighboring business owner John Antonucci who has argued in favor of changing the parcel’s zoning from residential to commercial in order to allow solar farm developer Eden Renewables to build a 32-acre solar farm capable of supplying energy to an estimated 1,250 homes.
Over the course of three public hearings Eden Renewables pitched the concept to the council and attempted to answer questions from the public and officials.”
