“Arthur G. Hanvey, 66, of Duanesburg Road, Delanson, N.Y., passed away Friday, November 1, at his home, surrounded by his family.
Arthur was born April 9, 1958, in Jamaica, Queens, the son of the late Arthur J. and Beverly M. (Davis) Hanvey and was the husband of Donna L. (Hogan) Hanvey with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Arthur was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle, as well as a wonderful friend to so many, and always ready to help anyone. He graduated from Dental Technician School in 1980 and created his own company in 1982, “Artwork Dental Lab” along with his wife Donna. They ran a successful business until selling it and working at the Veterans’ Administration Dental Department in Albany. He always tried to restore a smile to the VA patients until his retirement in 2023. Art was a passionate New England Sports fan and was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan. He enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Commerce and Education Golf League. He loved playing with his late father and his brothers. He enjoyed bowling and was in a league with his brother-in-law Gary Simmons and sister-in-law Mary Marx. Art loved concerts at Saratoga Performing Arts Center and going to the thoroughbred races at Saratoga every summer with friends and family. He loved vacationing in Cape Cod every summer and his favorite activity was walking on the beach and swimming in the pond with his wife, Donna.
In addition to his wife, Arthur is survived by his daughter, Erin Hanvey (Peter); stepson, Jeffrey Stuto (Stephanie); his brothers, William Hanvey (Mave) and Matthew Hanvey (Lynn); grandchildren, Kenneth Stuto, Athena Stuto and Karissa Stuto; his great-grandson, Ezio Stuto; along with many nieces and nephews, including Mary-Kathleen (Hanvey) Barrett, Liam Hanvey, Colleen Hanvey, Thomas Hanvey and John Hanvey.
Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon on Thursday, November 7, at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 1735 Alexander Road, Delanson, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemtery, in Glenmont. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Art to the Zachary and Eizabeth M. Fisher House, Stratton VA Medical Center, 113 Holland Ave., Albany, N.Y. 12208.”
