“The Duanesburg Town Board is seeking bids to add a 1,005-square-foot addition onto the rear portion of town hall.
The addition would provide more space for meetings, office space for the town judges, bathrooms and an entrance vestibule, said Supervisor William Wenzel during a board meeting Thursday night.
The town would also look at whether to install a new roof.
“I believe it’s a 25-year roof but we’re 22 years in,” said Deputy Supervisor John D. Ganther Jr. “It just made sense that if that expense is coming we may as well roll that in.”
It would also look at including concrete stairs to connect the upper and lower parking lots,
“We don’t necessarily have to do that,” Ganther said. “If nothing else we have the plans already for how to do that. It might be something we handle down the road or maybe the highway department could chip in on that.”
They are also looking at possibly adding an electric sign and updating the ramp at the front of the building.
Ganther said the high-end estimate for the project is around $1.28 million.”
