“Representatives of Eden Renewables on Tuesday updated the Common Council on plans to develop a solar farm on a portion of the former Pine Brook Golf Club on South Main Street. Developers secured Planning Board approval earlier this month to subdivide the 155-acre residential golf club property to pursue rezoning by the city of the section eyed for the solar project to advance plans, but the subdivision approval was rescinded during a special Planning Board meeting on Tuesday due to an issue regarding public hearing notification that will require the hearing and board action to be repeated in September.
Hyde Clarke, attorney for solar company Eden Renewables, reported to the Common Council that an application to subdivide the golf course property was approved by the Planning Board during the regular meeting on Aug. 4 following a public hearing. Following the meeting, the solar developers were informed that a public hearing notice required to authorize the hearing and subsequent action by the Planning Board had not been published.”
