“A New Zealand-born entrepreneur formerly of Woollahra in Sydney who now lives in the Swiss Alps, and a person called Lord Roborough — understood to be an Eton-educated British baron — are among the directors of the Cayman Islands company at the heart of the water buybacks furore.
There were at least three directors of the Cayman Islands-incorporated Eastern Australian Irrigation last financial year, including “C. Maloney”, understood to be Switzerland-based entrepreneur Connor Maloney, a director of the company since 2007, when it was founded.
A second director of EAI is named in company accounts as “Lord Roborough”, who is understood to be Britain’s 4th Baron Roborough, also known as Massey Lopes, 49, a British hedge-fund manager and financial analyst who formerly worked for Goldman Sachs.”
