Schodack and Duanesburg community solar projects now approved

“Over the summer, our proposed developments have grown from three to nine solar farms that will generate a total of 67.4 MWp of natural energy to power about 11,025 homes in the Capital Region. Three of these sites, Elmbrook in Schodack and Oak Hill Farm I and II in Duanesburg, are now approved and expected to break ground in the spring next year.

Chief Developer Giovanni Maruca said, “We are excited to be moving forward with these projects, which will bring clean, green solar power to their local communities. We’d also like to thank both towns for working closely with us to make sure our developments meet local solar ordinances.”

Subscribing to a community solar farm offers the chance to save money on your energy bill as well as reduce your carbon emissions. Residents of these towns will be offered subscription priority at the beginning of construction.

Another six projects are currently undergoing the approval process in their respective towns. For details on each project, check out Solar Projects.”
