But Old Etonian chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s sister Sophy has enraged locals in Hertfordshire with plans to build a 40-acre solar farm in the county.
Sophy, who has been described as a ‘solar panel zealot’, is a press officer for Solstice Renewables, a green energy company run by Camilla Parker Bowles’ son-in-law Harry Lopes.
Lopes’s daughter Eliza was a bridesmaid at the Royal Wedding, famously posing with a toy ‘wiggly worm’ in official photographs.
The company has applied for permission to build a solar panel farm near Knebworth in North Hertfordshire and neighbours are furious.
Nick King, a software engineer who lives next to the proposed site, has said: ‘It’s going to create an eyesore covering a huge area that people will be able to see from miles away.
‘The developers have no track-record of similar development. We lack the comfort of being able to see any other projects that they have completed.’”
