“Clay Martin Duanesburg – Clay Martin “Hollywood”, 63, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 at his home in Duanesburg, NY.
Clay was born on August 23, 1960 to Jeanette Martin and the late Robert C. Martin Sr. He attended Duanesburg High School before joining the workforce. Clay was employed by the Laborers’ Local 190 and later ran the kitchen at the Quaker Inn for several years. He was an amazing chef and loved watching others enjoy his delicious meals. He also worked at the Schenectady Gazette where he delivered papers for over 30 years.
Clay enjoyed being outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, mowing, riding his golf carts, tractors and Harleys, as well as spending his time working as a handyman and mechanic in his neighborhood. He was known as a “Jack of all trades” who had a knack for just about everything and always loved helping others. He loved hosting family reunions throughout the years and watching everyone gather to enjoy family time and his amazing food. Clay was a kid at heart who loved practical jokes, having fun and making others laugh. He missed his calling of being a comedian.
Clay was a staff member of the Harley Rendezvous for over 40 years where he enjoyed spending time with his friends and being the life of the party. He loved riding motorcycles and driving fast. “Biker Born, Biker Bred, When I die, I’ll be Biker Dead”.
A dedicated husband, Clay is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Teresa Martin, daughter Susan Martin (Adam Powles), mother Jeanette Martin, brother Robert Martin Jr. (Rocky), sisters Jeanette Martin (John Crowley), Mariellen Vadney (Joel), Alice Martin-Hamlin (Marty), his brother-in-law Leroy Salisburg (Marsha) and brother-in-law Roland Salisburg (Jodi). He also leaves behind his nephews and nieces Tyler and Ryan Vadney, John J. Crowley V, Deidre (Salisburg) Klim, Amber Cioffi, Faline, Sydney and Kyle Salisburg.
In keeping with Clay’s wishes there will be no formal services at this time. If you wish to pay tribute, donations can be made to the American Heart Association in Clay’s memory.
