“Tech companies MTX Group and mavQ are establishing a presence in downtown Schenectady, opening offices at 400 State St. on Thursday.
The Schenectady County Metroplex board approved a $100,000 grant in October to support the move into the 9,000 square feet of office space on the third floor of the State Street building above the BTM Movieland multiplex.
The State Street office space will host the Dallas-based MTX technology consulting firm and mavQ, a tech company which has developed an artificial intelligence-driven platform.
The move has established 25 new jobs in the city, with the tech companies planning to expand in the coming months and years.
“We will grow,” MTX Group President Mahesh Nattanmai said on Thursday. “Every year we hire 50-70 people from colleges, who then get deployed across the nation. Now that we have an office here, we expect to have more people here.””
