Bishop, Diocese should pay back lost pensions
How would you feel if, when getting ready to retire after working for St. Clare’s Hospital for 32 years, the money in your pension fund had disappeared?
It’s been well over five years since the pension fund of St. Clare’s Hospital retirees has been stolen from them. Many retirees have had to downsize, sell their houses, go back to work and have suffered terribly. Some have passed away never knowing what happened to their hard-earned money.
The Office of the Albany Diocese and the Bishop should be held responsible for this terrible crime – yes, it is a crime — and should be made to repay all of the funds that are owed to the retirees.
The money should not come from the parishioners who support the diocese. They have done nothing wrong.
