“Property owner Scott Krill told the DeKalb County committee that there has been no interest in residential and commercial development for his land in 20 years.
According to Mayor Latham, each DeKalb County Board member will be receiving a phone call and fact sheet from the city ahead of the August meeting. Latham urged the council and residents to start contacting the board members or attend that meeting.
Issues surrounding the project include the BP pipeline through the property, a high water table, the Sandwich Earthquake Fault Line, and types of vegetation screening. A previous planned berm has been removed by the solar developer. When finished the posts and panels could be 10 to 12 feet in height.
