“DUANESBURG – A car that crashed into a convenience store on Duanesburg Road Friday morning struck a patron, while debris trapped an employee, Schenectady County sheriff’s officials said.
At about 9:45 a.m. deputies responded to the Valero Gas Station and Convenience Store at 6030 Duanesburg Road after getting a report that a vehicle crashed into the building.
Deputies said their preliminary investigation shows a 73-year-old driver apparently pressed the accelerator rather than the brakes as she tried to park in front of the store. A male patron struck by the car inside the store suffered a cut to the leg but declined medical attention. The female employee was looked at by emergency medical personnel but said she was not injured.
The driver was evaluated by fire and EMS and declined medical attention. She was issued a ticket.
Several agencies assisted the sheriff’s office: Duanesburg firefighters and Duanesburg Ambulance, Pine Grove firefighters and the Duanesburg town code enforcement office.”
