Obituary: Vincent F. DeBraccio

October 5, 2022 by l

“Vincent F. DeBraccio, 86, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022.

Born in Schenectady, NY, he was the son of the late Angelo DeBraccio and Angelina (Favata) DeBraccio. He grew up on Lower Broadway in Schenectady and was a proud graduate of Mont Pleasant High School.

Vince worked at the family restaurant briefly before enlisting with the Army National Guard where he served for 15 years. At his second job as a parts runner for Denooyer Chevrolet he met a cashier whom he later married, Julia (Dykeman) DeBraccio on May 9 1975. At that time he began working for the state. He worked for the Department of Corporations. He put in 35 years there before retiring in 2010.

Vince was a dedicated father and husband. He never missed a little league ball game for any of his sons. He made every choir concert, band performance and theater production his children were involved in.

He was a die-hard Yankee fan and enjoyed watching the game regularly with his wife and two sons, Gregg and Steven. He enjoyed good conversations and meaningful debates. He enjoyed summer vacations on The Great Sacandaga Lake.

He is predeceased by his wife Julia of 46 years, his son Bruce DeBraccio, his sister Louise (DeBraccio) Bakowski, his brothers Jerome and Angelo Jr.

Survivors include his sister Philomena, his sons Marc, Gregg, and Steven, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the White-VanBuren Funeral Home, 1779 Main St., Delanson, NY 12053 from 10 am to 12pm with a reception to follow at Quaker Street Volunteer Fire Department, 10136 Duanesburg Rd., Delanson, NY 12053.
