Obituary: Ronald Neadle Obituary

“Neadle, Ronald C. ESPERANCE Ronald C. Neadle, 90, formerly of Esperance, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022. Born in Rotterdam, Ron worked as a carpenter for over 50 years, retiring in 1997. Ron was a member of the North Atlantic Carpenters Union Local #291, and volunteered with the Adirondack Mountain Club, the Mohawk Valley Hiking Club (past president), the National Audubon Society, the American Red Cross, and was a devoted attendee of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Delanson. Ron also volunteered for many years at the George Landis Arboretum. Ron was a careful craftsman, a woodsman, hike leader, hiking trail creator, bicycling enthusiast, avid birder, creative sailor, and skier. Ron was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved swapping stories about the Arctic and his many other interests at the Duanesburg Diner, the Blue Ribbon Restaurant, and school rooms around the Capital District. He was beloved by many, especially Lois. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Fabian and Cecilia Griesmer Neadle; and his brothers, Bernard Neadle and Richard Neadle. Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Lois Foight Hodges; his brother, Leon Neadle; his sister, Noreen Mickle, as well as his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 17, at 1 p.m. at the White-Van Buren Funeral Home, 1779 Main St., Delanson. Burial will follow in the George Landis Arboretum in Esperance. Ron’s family respectfully requests memorial donations may be made in his name to the George Landis Arboretum, 174 Lape Road, Esperance, NY, 12066 or to Our Lady of Fatima Church, P.O. Box 219, Delanson, NY, 12053. Condolences and memories may be shared at whitevanburenfh.com.
