For the past three years, one woman has made it her everyday mission to keep the issue in the public eye.
There are no sponsors, no large banners, no entourage — just Meredith Cherry traveling roads across the country with a message that more needs to be done to rein in domestic violence.
Cherry knows firsthand. She was in an abusive relationship for more than a dozen years. Getting out wasn’t easy.
The California-native has already been to 29 states through the kindness of strangers who’ve taken her in for a night and helped her on her way.
Thursday morning, she was in Duanesburg.
Her journey continues as she spreads her message one state at a time.”
