“Summers, Raymond B. ROTTERDAM Raymond B. Summers, 76, of Rotterdam, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at his residence. Ray was born on August 5, 1941, in Schenectady, the son of Edward and Veronica LaJeunesse Summers. He graduated from Mont Pleasant High School and attended Albany Pharmacy School. Ray was a photographer for many years at the Knickerbocker News, Schenectady Gazette, Union Star and Times Union newspapers. Later in life, Ray owned Darby Hill & Summers Gallery in Rocky Neck, Mass., and Ray Summers Photography. He was past fire chief of the Quaker Street Fire Department and was a member for 20 years, and was well known throughout the craft festivals. Ray is survived by his loving and devoted companion, Carole Perrine; and her children, Michael Okray and Michelle Scepkowski. Ray is also survived by his ex-wife, Christine Nerf Summers; and their children, Tammie M. Summers, SueAnn S. (David) Griessler, Rachael (Ray) Thompson, Rebecca Marie Summers, Jonathan M. Summers and Raymond F. Summers; several grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law, Walter (the late Elaine) Deay. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5 -7:30 p.m. at the DeLegge Funeral Home 1346 Chrysler Ave., Schenectady.”
