“A fire broke out in the basement of a two-family home on Main Street in the village of Delanson Saturday night, sending the owner to the hospital with smoke inhalation.
Deputy Mayor Joshua O’Connor said he understood that the man’s family was able to escape to a neighbor’s house, and no one else was injured.
The man had reportedly been trying to thaw out frozen water pipes in the basement when the fire began. The fire eventually spread to insulation within the walls of the house. It’s unclear what exactly started the fire.”
